Our group studies the different mechanisms of neutrophil activation by bacterial products, tissue damage or contact to implant surfaces. Our major in vivo model is the systemic inflammatory response, especially the one consequent to trauma and surgery. Most of our comparative studies are based on proteomics, using different approaches, such as shotgun proteomics, targeted approaches and PTM-omics. We described neutrophil pathways affected by surgical trauma and highlighted others that are involved in the ischemic damage prevention by preconditioning.
